TYPEOF KEYS, ALLOWANCE CLEARANCE & TAPER TYPE AND USES OS KEYPULLER'S
Let's start :-
Key (कि )
Key is a samll parts of metal. Its used to remove place between shaft or hub. Key size take according to diameter of Ratio.
Its used in not fixable (अस्थाई ) part of machine.
Material :- Specialy made by carbon steel, Mild steel. Its used in GEAR, PULLY, WHEEL to attach Together shaft.
Its also says ' key seats ' or key ways.

1. SUNK KEY:- Its type of key for fitting
Make a keyways in shaft and Hub (In Fig)

1. PARALLEL KEY (समांतर कि )
2. TAPER KEY (टेपर कि )
3. GIB-HEAD KEY ( जिब-हैड कि )
4. THIN TAPER KEY ( पतली टेपर कि )
5. WOOD RUFF KEY ( वुड रफ कि )
6. FEATHER KEY ( फिदर कि )
7. DOVETAIL KEY ( डवटेल कि )
8. CONE KEY ( कोन कि )
9. TANGENTIAL KEY ( टेंजेंटियल कि )
10. ROUND KEY ( राऊण्ड कि )
1. PARALLEL KEYS :- Its type of key are equal in shape and to protect Relative Rotation. To give permission for sliding or Axial movement.
Type of Parallel key
Type-A:- Keys with both ends round.

Type-B :- Keys with both ends Square.
(In Fig)
Type-C:- Keys with both end round. But Its have a Screw hole to fit on shaft.(In Fig)
Type-D:- Keys with both ends square. Its have a screw hole to fit on shaft.(In Fig)
Type-E:- Keys with both ends Round. Its have a 8×7 and 10×8 hole size.(In Fig)
Type-F:- Keys with both ends Square and its have a two screw hole. One hole is 12×8 mm Size and Other Taper Jackin screw.(In Fig)
Type-G:- Keys with both ends Square and chamfer. Its have screw hole.(In Fig)
Type-H:- Keys with both ends Square and chamfer . Its have Two screw holes.(In Fig)
Type-J:- Keys with both ends Square. Its have one hole for Spring dowel sleeves.

2. TAPER KEY :- Its type of keys have Rectangle cross section And its taper ratio 1:100 from breadth.
Type of TAPER KEY
TYPE-A:- Keys with both ends Round. (In Fig)
Type-B:- Keys with both ends Square. (In Fig)
Type-C:- Keys one ends Round and other is Square. (In Fig)
3. GIB-HEAD KEY :- Its also Taper keys. Square Head chamfer at 30°. Taper ratio is 1:100. (In Fig)
4. THIN TAPER KEY :- Its like a taper keys
But difference is its longer than taper key.
According ti IS:6166 its used only 22mm to 230mm shaft diameter.
5. WOOD RUFF KEY :- Its shape like a sector and fit on shaft in straghit Flat part of hub fit in keyways. Its used in a Transmission of power. Its fit maximum 40mm diameter shaft. (In Fig)
6. FEATHER KEY :- Its like a plan key or Round key Its used on moveable parts and slideing parts.
Type of Feather key
* Peg feather key:- In this centre of key one hole diameter according to breadth. Its used to fit hub keyways hole. (In Fig)
* Single Headed feather key:- Its like apaln key but in one side make head .Its used fit to hub with screw . (In Fig)
*Double Headed feather key:- In this end with head and slide to and far with hub.(In Fig)
7. DOVETAIL KEY :- Its make Dovetail key shape. Its key fit in partof rectangle shaft and Dovetail part fit with hub and to fit with the help of Soft hammer.(In Fig)
8. CONE KEY :- Its is a Turncated cone segment. On axix have cylindrical hole . To make taper hole on hub for fitting shaft mount. (In Fig)
9. TANGENTIAL KEY :- Its type of key are used in pair and to touch shaft tangential fit. Its used for 60mm to 500mm diameter of shaft. Its fit at 120°angle in Flywheel and Rolling mills .(In Fig)
10. ROUND KEY :- Its look like a round key and its have round cross section. Its fit between shaft and hub in keyways. Some ROUND key have taper at 2:100 or 1/6 diameter . (In fig)
2. SADDLE KEY:- Its type key don't need to cut shaft for fitting. Its used for low load work( हल्का काम) because to slip in heavy load. (In Fig)
Type of saddle key
1. FLAT SADDKE KEYS ( फ्लैट सैडल कि )
2. HOLLOW SADDLE KEY ( हालो सैडल कि )
1. FLAT SADDLE KEY :- In this key have one side is flat surface therefore when its fit in shaft then fileing or machin on keyways according to key. Its used in low load work. (In fig)
2. HOLLOW SADDLE KEY :- Its like a falt saddle but difference only in flat saddle key is falt but in hollow saddle key have Round. Round according to shaft. Its also use for low load work. (In Fig)
